Every young person deserves the chance to thrive, to feel valued, confident, and supported in their education. But for some, traditional learning environments can feel overwhelming or inaccessible. Whether due to social, emotional, or special educational needs, many young people simply need a different kind of support to reach their potential.

That’s where Future Pathways comes in.
Our alternative provision is designed around one simple belief, that every young person can succeed when they’re understood, supported, and given the right opportunities.
A Tailored Approach to Learning and Development
No two young people are the same, and neither are their needs. That’s why every learner at Future Pathways receives a bespoke package of support, built around their personal goals, strengths, and challenges.
We work closely with schools, parents, carers, and local authorities to create a learning and wellbeing plan that meets the needs of the individual. From classroom-based learning to community engagement and activity-based sessions, everything we do is purposeful, structured, and meaningful.
Our approach is not about ticking boxes, it’s about helping young people re-engage with learning, rebuild confidence, and rediscover a sense of purpose.
What We Offer
Key Stage 2: Preventing Disengagement
At Key Stage 2, we focus on early intervention, supporting children who are beginning to show signs of disengagement in school. Through short-term, targeted programmes, we help prevent difficulties from escalating.
This can include:
1:1 classroom support within school
Short-term alternative provision placements
Blended timetables combining class-based learning with positive activities
Supported behavioural intervention
These early experiences can make a huge difference in helping children feel capable, supported, and ready to learn again.
Key Stage 3 & 4: Bespoke Learning and Personal Growth
As young people move through secondary education, their needs often become more complex. At Future Pathways, we provide a flexible and structured environment that focuses on engagement, motivation, and progress.
We offer:
1:1 packages focused on EHCP outcomes
Curriculum-based learning across core subjects
AQA Unit Awards and ASDAN NCFE programmes
Behaviour and attendance intervention
Group-based sessions to build teamwork and confidence
Life skills, careers guidance, and transitional support
Work experience opportunities to prepare for adult life
Our dedicated staff act as mentors and positive role models — helping young people develop resilience, respect, and readiness for their next steps.
Post-16: Bridging the Gap to Adulthood
Moving into adulthood can feel daunting, especially for young people with additional needs. Our Post-16 provision bridges that gap — offering practical, emotional, and educational support to help them build independence and confidence.
We help young adults:
Explore future pathways
Gain life and employability skills
Access community engagement opportunities
Build confidence to transition into further education, training, or employment
We don’t just support academic progress — we support the whole person.
A Partnership with Families
At Future Pathways, we know that the journey is not just about the young person — it’s about the family too. Parents and carers often face uncertainty and concern when their child struggles with school.
That’s why we work in partnership with families, maintaining open communication, offering reassurance, and celebrating every bit of progress together.
As one parent shared:
“The staff really took the time to get to know my child and understood the importance of building a positive relationship. These activities boosted their self-esteem and engagement. We always felt supported, not just my child, but us as a family.”
More Than Education - It’s About the Future
The difference we see every day at Future Pathways is remarkable. Children who once felt disconnected begin to smile again. Young people who thought education wasn’t for them start to achieve, engage, and aspire.
We believe in Togetherness. Engagement. Action. Motivation. These are the values that guide everything we do, helping young people find their path and discover their future.
If You Know a Young Person Who Needs Support…
