Children within KS2, showing disengagement within the classroom may benefit from short term alternative provision intervention.


Alternative Provision can be implemented in a variety of ways to increase the young persons experience of the school environment:

• Classroom support (1:1 intervention) within the school setting.

• Short term alternative provision placement whilst awaiting a move to a specialist school.

• A varied timetable incorporating a variety of classroom based learning and alternative provision- this may be used as a reward-based incentive for positive behaviours displayed by young people.

• Supported intervention to modify behaviour.
